Home for a Week

I found a whole package of these old flash bulbs in my mom's attic. They're awesome! I'm not sure what flash my dad had that would use these.

I shot both exterior & interior photos of my mom's house for when she puts it on the market next year.

While out running errands with my mom & brother, we passed this decrepit building on the outskirts of Grant Park. As a kid, I used to go there all the time to play tennis & ice skate.

I love peeling paint!

Exposed brick on the old building.

Detail of a bank vault outside Trader Joe's.

Grandma picked up lots of organic dog treats for her granddog at Trader Joe's.

Adam made $26 (520 nickels) returning bottles & cans. There were so many we had to split it into two days.

Weekend at the Beach

Luckily I got to shoot a few snaps before my pup saw this lizard.

Stella enjoyed the view at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club.

I ordered a bunch of new Life is Good t-shirts. All of my favorite things ... dogs, Airstreams & coffee.

Home Depot

As soon as Stella heard dogs were allowed at Home Depot, she wanted to go shopping. I called the store & they said dogs always come in. In all of the years I've been going to Home Depot, I've never seen a dog inside. When we got there, there was a decal on their window that said No Pets Allowed. While we were hovering by the front door looking perplexed, we were invited inside. All of the employees wanted to meet Stella. We had a great time!

Starbucks Scary Storm ... Thundershirt to the Rescue!

At our weekend jaunt to Starbucks, Stella got her very own cup of whipped cream.

She also got her usual Milk Bone.

After a little while, Stella's ears perked up at a really loud crack of thunder. She's been spooked by thunder ever since the fireworks last month. My poor pup wasn't happy so went home.

Yesterday I actually went to Bed Bath & Beyond to pick up a Thundershirt. Even though I didn't think it would really work, I figured it was worth a try.

Well it's AMAZING! It calmed her right down & she didn't even mind wearing it. She passed out within 20 minutes. Crazy!

Friday Night Rainbow

I walked out of my office just after 7pm & was rewarded with this nice double rainbow.

UGH! Snake in My Backyard

I've done a ton of research but still can't figure out what kind of snake this is. It has a lot of traits of a venomous snake ... bright colors, triangle shaped head & it swims on the surface of the water. Luckily I saw it before I let Stella outside.

Olympic Diver Chris Colwill ... Now & Then

Mary called to remind me to watch Chris Colwill dive in London.

We shot Chris 16 years earlier as an 11-year-old for National Geographic World magazine. He was born with only about 40 percent of his hearing, and he has worn a hearing aid since age 4.

Swimming Lesson

This afternoon we went for Club K so I could give Stella a swimming lesson.

She wasn't too happy with her new hot pink life jacket, but she looked so adorable ... yet ferocious!

After two 20-minute swims, Stella was perfectly content hanging out in the shallow end. My ultimate goal is for her to learn that she shouldn't go in the water without her life jacket. That will hopefully keep her out of our backyard lake. I'd love her to learn how to dive like her brother Bailey.

Swimming is exhausting!!!
