Hanging Mary's Show

Today I helped Mary hang her photo exhibit at the Kent Gallery of Florida State College. Besides the photos hanging on the wall, she printed little books, each with work from one week. We hung these from the ceiling with monofilament fishing line.  Pretty cool!

iPhone 6 Official Release

Tracie & I got in line at 4:30am to wait to get our iPhone 6s. There were probably 200 people ahead of us. It wasn't nearly as seamless or as much fun as when we camped out to get our iPhone 5s. There's no way I'm camping out for the iPhone 7!

We went over to the High Line. It was really nice. I was shooting a pic of this cool building when I got photo-bombed by Webb Simpson!

National September 11 Memorial Museum

I spent the day at the 9-11 museum with Andrea, Bobby, Billy, Emily, Josh, Helaine & Norm. It was impressive, a chilling reminder of my US Open trip to NY in 2001. The buildings came down 2 days after the men's final.

There was a graphic with some interesting figures. Here are some of the amazing facts:
  • Approximately 50,000 people worked in the World Trade Center each day.
  • Each floor was an acre in size.
  • Each tower had 110 floors.
  • There were 198 elevators in the Twin Towers & 15 miles of elevator shafts.
  • Each express elevator could hold 55 adults.
  • There were 43,600 windows in the Twin Towers & it took 2 months to wash them all.
  • The World Trade Center contained 12 million square feet of office space.
  • It took 10 carriers to deliver all of the World Trade Center's mail each weekday.

Early Riser

3am wake-up to get Stella to Pet Paradise by 4am. On the way to the airport, my car suggested I stop for a cup of coffee.

When I got to the airport at 5am, even Starbucks wasn't open yet.

After arriving at JFK, I had a pleasant first experience with the AirTrain. Sure beats a cab during rush-hour. I had lunch with Karen & spent the day visiting old friends at SI. After dinner with Janet we hung out with Brandon. Just like the good old days.

Strut Your Mutt 2014

The good news was that Stella & I raised $250 ($500 after match) for The Old Dog House, a Jacksonville non-profit charity focused on rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing older & senior dogs. The bad news was that it rained all morning. After the walk Stella got peanut butter & bacon Luckee Dog K9 Ice Cream.

New Magnifica

Stella was curious. What's in the box & why am I so excited?

Out with the old (right) & in with the new (left). My new DeLonghi Magnifica is so awesome! It was time to retire my old one after a good 9-year run. Cappuccino anyone? All I have to do is push a button! No manual frothing! Crazy!
