Tally Protests!

There was a small space in front of the door & the pup decided if she filled it, we couldn't get out of the house. Tally wasn't happy when we piled all our stuff by the door to pack the car. She had a feeling we were going away & she wasn't going with us. We did invite her, but she had a prior commitment. Maybe next time she can come to PVB.

Schnauzerpalooza!

We were very fortunate to have a neighborhood Miniature Schnauzer puppy "get together" on our front lawn. The first arrival was Tootsie (Cubby's puppy cousin from Sarasota). Next Cubby came over to see what was going on. Then our next door neighbors pulled into their driveway. We couldn't believe our eyes when they got out of their van with a 9 week old puppy, "Andie". It was a great day hanging out with the pups!

more cookies!

After I returned from the TOUR Championship & two days of orientation, I was surprised by some more "golf themed" cookies. These were sent by Karen & the gang from Sports Illustrated Picture Sales. When I passed them around the office, Evanne said, "I'll have the Teddy bear." I explained that I thought it was a gopher (due to the "Caddyshack" connection) and questioned her vegetarianism.

Service Pony!!!

I couldn't believe my eyes! While shopping at Sam's Club I saw "Confetti", the only seeing-eye pony in the southeast. I had seen a show about service ponys (and service monkeys) on tv. I was happy I had a camera with me!

I guess GOB (from Arrested Development) shops at Sam's Club. I didn't see him there...unless he turned himself into a service pony!!!

My Cookies!

Today I was very surprised when I opened a package that arrived at work. It was a BEAUTIFUL golf/tennis cookie arrangement sent by Kirsten (USTA Mag) & family (Greg, Connor, Cooper, & Samantha). Of course I would not let anyone in my office eat one until I had a chance to photograph it. I thought of shooting it on the famed 17th green of the TPC Sawgrass. Instead, I opted for another great patch of grass outside the TPC Golf Maintenance Operations building.

Richard Petty Driving Experience

We photographed the brave PGA TOUR players who decided to take a spin around the track.

PIZZA ALERT!

I was at a Marriott Hotel in Orlando for the FUNAI Classic when I had a hankering for pizza.

2005 US Open

That's me (on the left in a red shirt) on the jumbotron in Arthur Ashe stadium during the US Open men's final trophy presentation (Federer beat Agassi). it was the 20th US Open for both me & Andre!

"Caryn Confused!!!" Kathy H scored a ticket to the men's final. She took this photo of me hard at work. Why am i shooting backwards while all the other photogs are shooting the action on the court? I'll never tell!

World's Fair Ruins

Before the men's final, Mary, Kathy H, & I trekked around the ruins of the NY Pavillion at the old World's Fair. It's hard to believe in 20 years of covering the US Open, we never poked around here before. It's AWESOME!

"Passing Shots" gallery

Mary & I were part of an exhibit of 11 photographers at the US Open. The show ("Passing Shots. Photographers Perspective of Tennis") was put together by the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Mary & I helped coordinate the show with printing from our lab, The Color House, and our framer, Alphalam. there were 171 16"x24" prints and it looked great. 21,000 people visited the exhibit during the tournament. the cocktail reception featured Frank Deford speaking about tennis photographers.

Holy Smoke!

Opening ceremonies at the US Open. The fireworks aftermath filled the stadium with smoke.

There's a beautiful tile mosaic of Elsie the Cow outside the gates of the National Tennis Center.

Catalina

After our ride in the Fuji blimp, we went to Catalina & passed out (from our non-drowsy Dramamine). I asked mary if I could draw a smiley face on her big toe. Surprisingly, she said, "SURE"!

Mary decides to break out her Speed Graphic for some 4x5 pix at Catalina.

Fuji Airship

Mary & I went for a ride in the Fuji Blimp.
