mini road trip

On our way to NY for the US Open, we took some detours to see some sites. This shell shaped gas station is in Winston-Salem, NC. It's the only one remaining of eight that were originally built in the late 1930s.

the Blues

We're in Chicago for the NATJA conference. We spent the evening listening to a great Blues band at Blue Chicago. The Ice Bar was next door & had a nice sign.

Gemini Giant

On our Rt 66 press trip prior to the NATJA conference in Chicago, we stopped to admire the Gemini Giant at the Launching Pad restaurant in Wilmington, IL.
