Fireplace Mesmerization

Stella is always mesmerized by fireplaces. It doesn't matter if it's Mary's real fireplace or our new electric fireplace.

Flood & Stucco

When I got to my house this morning, there was a huge flood in the front/side yard. The county came & determined there was a broken sprinkler pipe.

Since the new stucco was going up today, they had to wheel everything around the other side of the house, where there was no flooding.

Luckily, the sprinkler guys came to fix the break.

It was a very messy day!

Stucco Removal

Due to interior wall damage from a long time leak, the exterior wall on one side of the house needed new stucco.

First, all of the old stucco needed to be removed.

They also had to remove the patio screening.

It was very dusty!

Bee Rescue!

Today I had a fascinating experience with bee expert Bo Sterk. For the past several years, I’ve noticed hundreds of honey bees congregating under my electric meter in October & November (click for 2019 pic). This year I decided it was time to do something about it. I didn’t want to call an exterminator, I wanted to rescue & relocate them.

First Bo stuck a camera in the wall to check for a hive.

Then he drilled a hole in the wall & put a stick in to check for honey. Yum!

When he cut a hole in the wall, the hive was exposed. It was huge! Probably over 25,000 bees!

Amazing!

Bo vacuumed the bees into a bee box with a special low pressure vacuum.

Bo stung himself so he could show me the finer points of a bee sting. Crazy!

I got some fresh honey. It’s fab!

Bo sent me this awesome pic he shot of the queen after he relocated the hive.
