US Open Sunday

The grounds sure have changed a lot since I was last here.

There are John Zimmerman images all over site promoting the Ashe '68 VR show.

The "new" Armstrong Stadium

I wish I could've been here for the dedication of the Bud Collins US Open Media Center in 2015. I sure miss Bud ... one of my favorite people in tennis.

I was happy to see my 30’x20’ pic of Agassi & Sampras from the 2002 US Open final, still hanging in Ashe Stadium.

The Unisphere was a lot lighter than I expected.

Mary & I walked around the New York State Pavilion from the 1964-1965 World's Fair in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. The light was great & it looked awesome against the blue sky.

The Sony A9 eye tracking autofocus is crazy! It actually follows the subject's eyes ... even when shooting Serena thru the net.

There was a foam party for kids on the camp deck.

US Open Friday

I haven't been to the US Open since 2009! That was when I achieved 25 years of coverage & was okay ending my streak. Mary & I met up with Kathy when we got on site.

We went to check out the Ashe '68 VR Experience in Armstrong featuring images by John Zimmerman. Great stuff!

We went to visit Stella's brother Bailey & his sister Casey. I, of course, brought them lots of toys. Amy, Howie, Elyssa & Nikki were there too.

Afterwards, we went to Sunken Meadow State Park with Mary's family.

Sag Harbor

We flew to NY today for a busy week. Seeing friends & family, going to the US Open for a couple of days & most importantly Springsteen on Broadway. Mary, Barbara, Judy & I went to see Brandon & Janet's house in Sag Harbor.

Brandon was home, but Janet had to work.

Afterwards, we went to the beach to shoot some pix.

Renee, Greg, Anna Mitch, Ilona, Matt & I had dinner at the Surf Deck Grill at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club for Renee's birthday. I didn't take any people pix but I shot these at the bar.
