Road Trip South Florida

Heading to Delray Beach & Doral. Stella is very comfortable but seems bored listening to golf on SiriusXM. I switched to Classic Vinyl shortly after I shot this pic. I never get tired of seeing Stella in her cushy co-pilot's seat on our long drives. Today is her first day wearing her new Sleepypod Clickit Sport seatbelt.

Greg, Renee & I rode our bikes to see the Concours d'Elegance in Marsh Landing's Fletcher Park. We saw some great cars & even had an unexpected free lunch ... yummy chicken wings & chocolate chip cookies.

Helaine & Norm were visiting for the weekend so I had to take them to TacoLu.

First I gave them a tour of the clubhouse at TPC Sawgrass. On the way to A1A, we passed the new Peterbrooke Chocolatier location. I realized I had a coupon that expired today for chocolate covered popcorn. I got dark chocolate, of course. It was amazing & the coupon was worth $16.95!

Home Depot Retirement

Stella got to say "Happy Retirement" to Bruce ... her favorite Home Depot employee. She sure is gonna miss him! Whenever we went shopping, she would go directly to Electrical to find him. She knew he always had treats in his apron & he loved getting kisses.

Rusty the Rooster

One of the houses in my mom's neighborhood has a giant rusty rooster. It's over 6 feet tall. I love it & could spend all day shooting the rusty details. Usually these types of things aren't allowed by the homeowners association, but it looks great!

Grandma's New Couch

As soon as we got to South Florida, Stella decided to test out grandma's new couch. She's not sure how she feels about home theater style seating. Grandma is too far away to pet her, but she does like her new blankie. We're both wondering why someone with a granddog would buy a white couch.  :-)

Stella vs Anhinga vs Owl

At least 3 times per day, an anhinga lands on the bulkhead. They drive Stella crazy because they don't fly away when she chases them. They know she can't reach them with the Invisible Fence (she gets within 8" & they don't budge). Then the barking starts. Besides the barking, the anhinga craps all over the bulkhead & it's disgusting.

Last night Stella & I went to Home Depot to buy some decoy owls to keep the anhingas off the bulkhead. When I installed the owls, Stella started barking at them, even though I brought them over to her to play with & smell. I think their spinning head freaks her out. First thing this morning, an anhinga landed right near the owl. Well that didn't work!

The next time it worked a little better.

But then, not only did the anhinga land right next to the owl, but he actually tried to knock it into the water with his wing! Now what should I do?
