Road Trip 2009 ... The Masters

Mary drove up to PVB, then we took a mini road trip to Augusta, GA.

We stopped for breakfast in St Marys. There were some great signs near the ferry to Cumberland Island National Seashore ... home of the wild horses.

Do not: pet the horses, go into ruins or feed any animals.

In Statesboro, we happened upon the Historic Beaver House.

We couldn't resist the boarding house menu:
southern fried chicken, boneless pork loin roast, green beans, rice & gravy, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, cream corn, marinated coleslaw & biscuits for $7.99! Everything was served family style. Seconds were free & thirds were $1.

Mary came back from the bathroom & suggested I go before we leave. I said I didn't have to go & she said I'd want to go. That's photospeak for bring your camera! There was a photogenic rusty sink ... gross but great for pix.

We rented a beautiful cabin in a Georgia State Park.

Our deck overlooked the lake.

The cabin was awesome! Full kitchen, living room, dining room & two bedrooms on the main level with a large bedroom loft upstairs.

HDTV & a fireplace. HDTV while camping?!? Of course we brought the espresso machine (it always goes camping). Roughing it at it's finest!

Facebooking by the campfire ... it doesn't get much better than that!

Shooting the perfect roasted marshmallow picture isn't easy.
