Museum of Contemporary Art

Tonight we went to MOCA to hear internationally acclaimed photographer Gideon Mendel talk about his ongoing project ‘Drowning World’ & his experience over the past few days photographing the devastating effects of flooding in Houston, TX & Jacksonville. Awesome!

Times-Union photographer Bob Self was there to show his images of flooding in northeast Florida. Great stuff!

In the 30 foot tall atrium at MOCA, there was a cool optical art installation by artist Gabriel Dawe called Plexus No. 38. It consisted of thousands of strands of brightly colored, polyester sewing thread.
